Reading Time: 3 minutes

On Wednesday night, The Masked Singer Season 6 returned for the Group B Finals, as Banana Split and Queen of Hearts battled it out for a spot in the grand finale. The remaining contestants each performed solo, as well as singing a duet with one of the show’s judges — Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger.

At the end of the night, the winner of the Group B Finals was announced to be Queen of Hearts. They’ll take on Bull, the winner of Group A, in the finale. Banana Split was eliminated and unmasked as American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee and her husband David Foster.

Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Nicole Scherzinger all guessed correctly in their first impression, earning each of them a point toward the Golden Ear trophy this season.

Tonight marked the first time ever that the Masked Singer judges have performed with contestants on the show. Making things even more interesting, the judges had to sing with the contestants without knowing who was under the masks. They even rehearsed separately before the performances.

Queen of Hearts Is Named ‘The Masked Singer’ Group B Winner

For tonight’s solo performance, Queen of Hearts performed “Bird Set Free” by Sia. The beautiful, emotional cover had audience members crying, as well as judges Jeong and Scherzinger, who called it “one of my favorite performances ever on this show.”

Even Queen of Hearts was shaking with emotion after that amazing performance. Later in the show, they teamed up with Scherzinger for an epic duet to “Dream On” by Aerosmith. Both singers sounded absolutely incredible as they hit some seriously impressive high notes. The other judges bowed down, with McCarthy screaming, “This is the greatest show ever!”

At the end of the night, Queen of Hearts was voted the winner of The Masked Singer Group B. They’ll go on to the finale next week to take on Bull, the winner of Group A. It’s sure to be an amazing finale, as one of these two contestants will receive the Golden Mask trophy for Season 6.

Banana Split Is Revealed to Be Katharine McPhee, David Foster

For their solo performance, Banana Split took the stage to perform “Singin’ in the Rain.” Split sounded amazing as usual and even showed off some tap dancing, but it was a little disappointing to see Banana simply conduct behind her instead of playing an instrument.

Later, the duo teamed up with judge Robin Thicke to perform “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder. Split once again showed off some incredible moves, ending the performance with a literal split, while Banana played piano. Ironically, Thicke was the only judge who didn’t correctly guess that they were Katharine McPhee and David Foster.

Thicke even revealed that he grew up with Foster as a family friend, calling him “Uncle David.” He said it couldn’t be him, because he would never dress like a banana on television. Meanwhile, Scherzinger was mentored by Foster on Popstars. She correctly guessed it was him under the mask.

McPhee ended the night by reprising her performance of “Singin’ in the Rain” while walking on the judges’ desk. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see a duo win The Masked Singer this season, but Bull and Queen of Hearts are sure to put on a show next week.
