‘The Masked Singer’ Chameleon Wiz Khalifa Tests Positive for COVID-19

Immediately after releasing the music video for the song “Girl Next Door,” rapper Wiz Khalifa announced to the world that he contracted COVID-19. The rapper, 33, competed on Season 5 of The Masked Singer as The Chameleon.

Khalifa told his 32.6 million Twitter followers about his diagnosis on July 14. He performed at Appalachian Power Park in West Virginia last week. The “See You Again” rapper has had a rather busy concert schedule this month. Khalifa performed in Las Vegas during the week of July 4.
“Okay loved ones….sooo…..Ya boy got covid. No symptoms. Just stay away from me for a lil while,” he wrote on Twitter.
His tweet received a slew of mixed comments. Many referenced a tweet of his from June 2020 where he made a remark about wearing face masks. Others gave him advice and wished him a speedy recovery. Khalifa also told his fans what he will be doing in quarantine as he recovers from COVID-19.
In early July, Khalifa tweeted that he was going to be performing “all new music” this year. Khalifa posted a video on his YouTube channel documenting his recording process in the studio in New York. He has been working non-stop since his Top 3 finish on The Masked Singer as The Chameleon. He impressed the judges with his performances of old-school rap songs each week. In his exit interview, Khalifa detailed all of his upcoming projects.
“I got a lot of other different businesses that I’m into right now,” he said. “I got my weed business, Khalifa Kush. I got McQueen, which is my alcohol business. I just became a part owner in the MMA league called PFL. Just a ton of different things.”
