Reading Time: 2 minutes
If you’re in the mood for laughs, glamour, and so much more, have I got the show for you. Legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race icons, Trixie Mattel and Katya, are hitting the road for their first live joint tour! Scheduled for 22 shows across the United States “Trixie and Katya Live” will pull out all the stops in their bag of tricks.
The concert-style atmosphere pays homage to the classic female road trip films of the ’90s. Thelma and Louise, To Wong Foo, and Crossroads, are just a few inspirations for this oh so special event.
“After over a year of living on your small screens, we are pulling out all of the stops on this live show,” the queens said to Entertainment Weekly. “You can expect spectacular musical numbers, a dazzling set, and impeccable timing from two of the most talented women in the world. Do I smell a Tony? ‘Trixie and Katya Live’Â will redefine drag, theatre, and art. You may leave with more questions than answers, but one thing’s for sure: The world will never be the same.”
From YouTube to Live Tour
The certified drag superstars are no strangers to the limelight. Trixie has released three chart topping albums, launched Trixie Cosmetics, and co-authored a New York Times Best Seller all while winning season three of All Stars. Known for her signature makeup and comedic timing, Trixie left a lasting impact on the Drag Race brand.
Katya was also originally featured on Season 7 of the series. She walked away with the title of “Miss Congeniality,” and snagged the runner-up spot on All Stars 2. Following her success on the show, Katya began releasing popular recap videos during her time on Drag Race. The growing fan base from this content led to both queens hosting the hit YouTube series “UNHhhh.”
The comedy web series showcases both queens discussing hilariously out of pocket topics in front of a green screen. In addition to YouTube, the show can also be streamed through the WOW Presents Plus channel.
“UNHhhh” has been nominated for four Streamy Awards throughout its run. The queens finally took home the gold and won best unscripted series at the 2020 ceremony, which they also hosted.
If you know what’s good for you, don’t miss the opportunity to see these two in action. Tickets for the “Trixie and Katya Live” tour go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, July 16 at 12:00 p.m. With tons of merchandise you can only get at the live show, meet and greets, and more, it’s every Drag Race fan’s dream come true.
