Wild outfits, a mullet, and drag queens? Yep, sounds like all the elements for a great Miley Cyrus show. Over the weekend, Cyrus celebrated the Fourth of July with fans at Resorts World Las Vegas. She invited RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, Kylie Sonique Love, on stage for a performance of “American Woman” during the concert.
Cyrus’ on stage performance with the Drag Race star was nothing short of jaw dropping. Her spicy, girl-power rendition of “American Woman” was not only fierce, but a major statement.
“THIS is the new AMERICAN WOMAN!, Cyrus stated on social media. “🇺🇸 ❤️💋🇺🇸💋 @xosonique IS my Miss America!!!!!!!!!! You take the crown mama!”
Kylie Sonique Love Can Keep up with Cyrus
If anyone can keep up with Cyrus’ energy, it’s definitely Kylie Sonique Love. Love competed on season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race, placing ninth that year. She is best remembered for her beauty and gymnastics talents. On episode two, she was criticized for her attitude, but did manage to make it through to the next round. Love’s run on the show came to an end after the fourth week.
In the show famous “snatch game,” the girls must deliver on an exquisite celebrity impression of their choice. Love attempted to take on Lady Gaga, but ended in the bottom two with Morgan McMichaels. They lip-synced for their lives to “Two of Hearts” by Stacey Q. Unfortunately, Love was eliminated for her reliance on gymnastics over choreography. But not to worry, the Drag Race star is back for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6, on Paramount +.
Love was an added treat to Cyrus’ night of celebration. The “Plastic Hearts” singer headlined the night in true rocker chick fashion. She owned the stage in a two piece stars and stripes ensemble, leaving little to the imagination. What better style to go with the outfit than, yep, a big ‘ole blonde mullet.
Leave it to Cyrus to end with a bang. The celebration was concluded by a spectacular fireworks display. Fans and celebrity guests all praised the powerful singer’s performance.
Tiësto, Hailey Clauson, Brett Oppenheim, Tina Louise, and 80s icon Cyndi Lauper were some of the celebrity attendees. The hype surrounding the show has also resulted in comments like how it was the “best show in the world.”
Lauper herself even chimed in saying “You go girl! Rock n Roll!” It seemed like a show you would not want to miss. From mullets to drag superstars, what more could you ask for in a night?
