‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 14 Features Game Changing Chocolate Bar

The upcoming season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is truly right around the corner. With the next season of the highly anticipated series premiering January 7, RuPaul Charles has begun sharing a few behind the scenes details. Last night, he sat down with James Corden and shared some new insight, without any spoilers of course.
RuPaul Teases Willy Wonka Themed Season
The new season features 14 fabulous new drag queens competing for the title of of “America’s Next Drag Superstar”, a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and a cash prize of $100,000. This series will begin on January 7 on VH1. When sharing details about the season, RuPaul acknowledged that there is a new part of the competition.
“This is season we have a little twist where we have this chocolate bar kind of like Willy Wonka where– I don’t want to give anything away,” RuPaul said. “It adds another layer to how you can win the show. It’s a RuPaul chocolate bar.”
Although RuPaul has yet to say how the chocolate bar will factor into the competition, he has recently teased a candy theme for the upcoming season. He shared that this part of the competition will be absolutely game changing. I can’t wait to hear how it’s used!
When some owners might prefer to ‘hand off the torch’ when their series gains popularity, RuPaul has stuck with it all. Even after 14 seasons of this show, he is hands on with almost every aspect of production. Since he’s been in the business for so long, Corden asked if RuPaul is able to figure out the winner the moment he meets them.
“Some kids who come, I think ‘oh that’s definitely going to be a winner’ and they disappoint. The opposite is true sometimes we have alternates, sometimes people can’t pass the psych evaluation or the other evaluations,” said RuPaul. “Sometimes we have alternates who come in at last minute and they are the ones who win. It’s really weird.”
I think all RuPaul’s Drag Race fans can agree that this season cannot come soon enough. The line up of drag queens is too good for Mama Ru to keep us waiting any longer!
