New Mom Nicki Minaj Skipped the Met Gala, So Why is She Being Dragged as Anti-Vax?

Nicki Minaj shared to Twitter that she was not attending the Met Gala because she was concerned with traveling and returning home to her infant. Minaj is not yet vaccinated against Covid-19. She shared with fans that she does not want to get vaccinated for the Met, she wants to do research first. While many jumped to conclude that she is against vaccinations, the rapper continues to defend herself.
It came as a huge shock that this rap legend would not be making it to this years Met Gala. But, everyone can understand that the decision came down to the health of her toddler. As many know, Minaj had her first child less than a year ago.
While on the topic of Covid-19, Minaj confirmed on Twitter that she’s actually already had the virus. She shared that she got it while preparing for the Video Music Awards, which took place on September 12.
Although it may seem like Minaj is against vaccinations from these tweets, she says that is not the case and is actively seeking advice as to which one she should get.

Minaj’s vaccination status quickly became a trending topic on Twitter. Publishers pounced on the fact that one of the biggest names in rap music had tweeted saying she’s unvaccinated. Instead of seeing Minaj’s tweets about researching the virus, they jumped to the conclusion that she doesn’t want to get the vaccine.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied,” she wrote.
After sharing this story, reports that Minaj was worried about swollen testicles quickly flooded the internet. Minaj shot back factchecking the dozens of articles.
She also called out news platforms for missing her point. Although the talk of vaccination requirements did come up in her initial tweet, she never said she was against the vaccine. Instead, Minaj chose to stay home because she was concerned about her family’s safety.
Minaj kept her stance on her own preferences throughout the Twitter war as she always does. Since she confirmed her previous sickness, there’s a strong possibility that she is currently ineligible to receive the vaccine. This could easily explain why she’s still in the research period.
