Jimmy Kimmel and Luke Bryan Talked About Strange Baby Gift

Bryan has more than 12 million albums sold and 26 number one hits. Even with all of these achievements, he has still remained true to his country roots. In the interview with Kimmel, he touched on how he has been handling quarantine, his recent fishing injury, and even pulled up one of his old report cards in which he earned “Satisfactory” marks in music.

The juiciest detail of all was when Bryan revealed what he got his fellow American Idol judge, Katy Perry’s, baby daughter Daisy Dove when she was born. It’s most certainly not a traditional baby gift, but something very country.

“A Daisy BB gun! It just seemed to be the right gift,” Bryan revealed.

Perry gave birth back in August to her first child with Orlando Bloom. She has been embracing motherhood and is not shy about talking about her new life on American Idol. We discuss this in the recap down below along with all of the scoop on the show’s Top 24.

Of course, Kimmel asked if Bryan expected the toddler to ever see the gun.

“No, that will never see the light of day,” Bryan said through laughs. “[It’s] maybe under lock and key.”

American Idol judge Lionel Richie was previously interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he was asked if he has ever made love to one of his songs. Richie dodged the question by saying that he couldn’t remember. Kimmel was not going to let Bryan off the hook so easily. He asked this same question because, naturally, the world is just curious to know.

“Well…just let me get back home,” the 44-year-old answered with a cheeky smile. The audience let out a laugh and Bryan looked happy to change the subject back to his music.

Luke’s Song Titles All Have One Major Thing In Common

Perhaps the most hilarious part of the interview had to be when Kimmel analyzed the song titles of some of Bryan’s most popular songs before the star performed his new song “Drink A Little Whiskey Down,” which is part of the deluxe version of his album. He has six songs coming out on Friday.

“How many of them are about alcohol?” Kimmel asked.

“There was ‘One Margarita’ so that pretty much says itself,” Bryan answered. “That’s what gets us through the pandemic, right?”

Kimmel then pulled out the receipts to show just how many of Bryan’s song titles involve alcohol including: “‘Just To Sip,’ ‘Drink A Beer,’ ‘Cold Beer Drinker,’ ‘Beer in the Headlights,’ ‘Drinking Beer and Wasting Bullets,’ ‘Your Mama Should Have Named You Whiskey,’ ‘Drunk On You,’ ‘Too Drunk To Drive,’ ‘Take My Drunk Ass Home,’ ‘Drinking Again,’ and ‘Hungover in a Hotel Room.'”

“Well that’s that satisfactory coming up right there,” Luke said, referring to his childhood report card. “So Jimmy I’ve had a large body of work with a lot of music so it’s not fair for you to just single out all of the drinking songs.”
