Luke Bryan Shares Graphic Video of His Horrible Fishing Accident
Luke Bryan went on a fishing trip this week with his guitar tech Russ, but things quickly took a turn for the worst. The American Idol judge posted a gruesome Instagram video of a fish hook stuck in his hand. Check out the video below, but be warned, it might make you wince.
Luke Bryan Gets Fishing Hook Stuck In His Hand
“Well, this is gonna leave a mark, pretty sure that’s in my bone,” Luke said in the video posted on Instagram. He stood on the boat with his injured hand but was still in good spirits despite his injury. “To help with that pain you better 1 margarita, 2 margarita, shot!!” an Instagram comment said referencing Luke’s song “One Margarita.”
“I leave your ass for 2 hours and this happens….damn baby” Luke’s wife Caroline Boyer wrote in an Instagram comment. The 44-year-old documented the journey to get the fish hook removed from his hand in his Instagram stories.
Russ drove Luke to a nearby medical center and his fans were eager to see if he was OK. The country singer was confident that once he had the hook removed, he would be back out on the water in 25 minutes. In the next story, Luke laid in a chair at the medical center before saying “we’re violating HIPPA somehow,” through laughter.
Luckily, the fish hook was removed and Luke was back on the water with Russ in no time. He gave a thumbs up to the camera showing that his thumb turned out to be fine. “Got the hook out. We’re back,” he said.
Luke Is A Fishing Expert And Loves Fishing With His Family
Despite thing fishing hook accident, Luke loves fishing and has been doing it since he was a kid living on the Flint River in Georgia. “When I look back on my experiences as a kid with my dad, at the top of those lists are always moments that I spent in the outdoors with him,” Luke said in an interview with Sounds like Nashville.
“When you’re in a fishing boat with your child for four or five hours, you just can’t replicate that time in any other, I mean, it’s just perfectly well-spent time, in my opinion” he continued.
The American Idol judge now takes his sons Thomas “Bo” and Tatum “Tate” fishing all of the time and likes to document the experiences on Instagram. He has also taken in three of his late sister’s children. “Bo and Tate are into Nerf guns and fishing and the outdoors — all my boys are. I’ve brainwashed them quite well!” he added.
Luke literally has a song called “Huntin’, Fishin’ & Lovin’ Every Day.” The music video features clips fishing with his family along with riding four-wheelers and hunting.
Thankfully, Luke is doing just fine after the fish hook accident and will be returning to our television screens on American Idol as scheduled.
