Kelly Clarkson’s Husband Fires Back At Her Claims He Defrauded Her

Kelly Clarkson’s divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock is made even more complicated by the fact that he was also her manager. The two are currently involved in a legal battle regarding business money.
Kelly claims that Brandon defrauded her out of millions of dollars. Now Brandon is firing back and denying her claims. Read on to find out more about the messy situation between these two.
Kelly Clarkson’s Husband Denies Fraud Claims
In October of last year, Kelly Clarkson filed legal documents claiming Brandon defrauded her through high fees while acting as her manager. According to Us Weekly, Brandon has now filed his own legal documents denying Kelly’s claims.
Kelly’s filing was a countersuit against Brandon’s father Narvel Blackstock, who filed a lawsuit against the singer claiming she owed the management company $1.4 million in unpaid commissions. Kelly claimed that Brandon and Narvel violated the Talent Agencies Act and the California Labor Code.

Brandon is reportedly arguing that Kelly isn’t entitled to any of the money he or his management company made while working with her over the last 13 years. His lawyers also argued that Brandon and his father Narvel aren’t subject to the Talent Agencies Act because they don’t perform their duties in California.
Brandon’s lawyers also reportedly pointed out that there is a one-year statute of limitations in the Talent Agencies Act, so Kelly could only claim money made within the year prior to her filing. Brandon apparently wants Kelly’s petition dismissed and for her to pay his legal fees.
Kelly And Brandon’s Divorce Is Messy
Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce last June, and things have been pretty messy since then. Although Kelly was awarded physical custody of their children River Rose and Remington Alexander, Brandon has sought hundreds of thousands in child support.

However, a source has claimed that Kelly and Brandon signed an agreement not to speak badly about each other publicly during their divorce, for the sake of their kids. “She wants them to have a relationship with Brandon,” a source told OK! magazine, “which is why she has made sure to never say nasty things about him or even comment on all the rumors that are out there.”
Shortly after Kelly filed for divorce, she even gave Brandon a shout-out on Twitter. After winning her Emmy award for The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly tweeted a thank-you to Brandon for “believing in me.”
It would seem that Kelly’s husband and father-in-law would have been paid up front first if they were managing her career. Sounds a little fishy that they didn’t have access to her monies.
