On “Catch Up With Kelly,” the talk show host shared how she spent her summer vacation. Here, viewers learn about the books she’s been reading and how she made homemade ice cream with her kids. Clarkson also shares her new streaming obsessions with fans. You can catch more heartwarming stories, live musical performances, games, and surprises when The Kelly Clarkson Show returns next week.

“So basically what I did with my Summer vacation is, I read a lot, I love reading, and I played with my kids a ton. We definitely went to Disney World and did it right, my kids are now obsessed with Star Wars,” Clarkson shares in the video’s introduction.

Kelly Clarkson’s Summer Activities: New Books, Gardening Tips, and More

Clarkson touched on her mild gardening obsession before talking about The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. This read is one of the many “botanical bibles” Clarkson has been into in the hopes of growing her garden at home. Also on her reading list is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles.

Circling back to Clarkson’s gardening hobby, the singer expressed her interest in the medicinal properties of plants. Her own garden includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and even berries.

“I’m really into the names and meanings behind the flowers that I’m planting,” she shares. “It’s really cute, you can look up protection for your house and plant them, which is Crape Myrtle by the way…but anyway I’m really into that stuff.”

The talk show host then went on to discuss the LEGO hobby she picked up with her family. Clarkson spoke of the creativity between her children and encourages their painting and writing skills. The Voice coach also revealed her tips for homemade vanilla ice cream and says it’s “real good” when done right.

This Summer, Clarkson also caught up on movies. She admitted she hadn’t seen all of the Star Wars films. The “Since U Been Gone” singer is now making up for that by watching them all in order with her kids. As a mom, Clarkson is no stranger to Disney films. In the video she expresses her love for Disney’s latest animated feature, Luca.

The Voice Coach Will See Her Co-Stars in Concert

Finally, the Grammy winner told viewers of her FOMO with concerts during this time. As she is “just dying to go places,” Clarkson has been invited to see her fellow The Voice co-stars live. She is now scheduled to see Nick Jonas, John Legend, and Blake Shelton at their shows.

“I am trying to go to all the things, this year, because they were all taken for like, a year and a half,” Clarkson concludes at the end of the video.

As season 21 of The Voice is right around the corner, Clarkson has been preparing to jump back into her coaching role this Fall. The addition of Ariana Grande to the panel of judges is sure to spice things up like never before. Recently, Clarkson along with Legend and Shelton took to Instagram to offer the rookie coach some advice. Tune in to the premiere September 20 on NBC.
