American Idol judge Katy Perry is extending her Las Vegas residency with new dates recently announced for the fall. The singer also just added a brand new character named Ratso to the show, voiced by Harvey Fierstein.

Katy Perry Extends Her Las Vegas Residency

Perry kicked off her Las Vegas residency, called PLAY, in December of last year at Resorts World Theatre. The show’s initial run only last until March, but the residency was extended to add new shows this summer. Now it’s going into the fall.

The fall dates include October 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 21, and 22. Tickets for the new shows will reportedly go on sale Monday, June 6, at 10 a.m. PDT, through the Resorts World website or AXS. Perry will also be presented with a “Key to the Las Vegas Strip” during an event at Resorts World on June 8.

Perry announced the new dates with fans on her Instagram account, telling them to mark their calendars for October. The singer also recently shared that fans can buy a program from PLAY, as well as other merch from the residency, in her online shop.

Perry Introduces New Character Ratso to the Show

Perry didn’t just add new dates to her show. She also added a new character, a giant rat named Ratso who is voiced by actor Harvey Fierstein. Perry posted about Ratso on Instagram, telling Fierstein, “We wouldn’t have done it without you.”

It looks like Ratso will be telling some jokes during his appearance in the show. In a clip Perry shared, Ratso tells her, “There’s only one way you can leave Vegas with a small fortune. Arrive with a big one!”

Perry has been keeping busy this year, as she recently finished judging the 20th season of American Idol on ABC. It was also recently announced that she’ll be voicing the title character in an upcoming animated movie musical called Melody.
