Katy Perry is bringing fans to Perry PlayLand! The pop superstar recently gave Good Morning America a behind the scenes look at her new Las Vegas residency show, Play. The highly anticipated show launches on New Year’s Eve.

The American Idol judge was all smiles as she gave viewers a look at the wild costumes, props, and overall feel of the show. The exclusive sneak peak showed that this show will be a grand spectacle. Perry will not be holding back as she takes fans into a magic ride of pure pop.

During the tour of Katy Perry’s Perry PlayLand, we see the larger-than-life set filled with color including life sized crayons and snails, bright costumes, and more. The set is truly straight out of Perry’s version of Will Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The 16-show event kicks off on December 31 and runs until March 19, 2022. There are no shows scheduled in February, indicating that Perry will be fully focused on the start of next season of American Idol.

Perry said she is excited that the Resort World Theater is allowing her to put on a show where her fans can have fun. During the walk through, we see Perry making sure all is perfect to get the show started on Friday. She is hands-on with props if they are not on stage on time and speaks with wardrobe about alterations needed. Every detail matters to Perry.

“People use music to be happy, to get their grief out. To dance, to put their makeup on. We all need a soundtrack to our lives, and I hope I can be a part of that,” Perry said in the video.

Play is actually coming out in time for Perry’s new single “When I’m Gone.” The electric dance track is her latest collaboration with Alesso. The new song will be a part of her show in addition to her hits “I Kissed a Girl,” “Firework,” “California Girls,” “Hot N Cold,” “Teenage Dream,” and “Roar.”
