Former World of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez recently married actor Ben Affleck in Las Vegas, almost 20 years after they called off their first engagement. Lopez shared the happy news with fans in her newsletter on Sunday, July 17.
Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Tie The Knot
In the early 2000s, Lopez and Affleck were known as “Bennifer.” They were engaged to be married, but their planned wedding in 2003 was postponed before they officially called things off in January 2004. Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony that same year, while Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005.
In 2021, Lopez and Affleck reconnected and started dating again. They confirmed their new engagement in April of this year, and now they’re married. According to POPSUGAR, the couple obtained a marriage license in Nevada on July 16.
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” Lopez wrote in her newsletter, going in to share, “Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”

The Couple Tied the Knot in Las Vegas
Lopez shared that she married Affleck at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas with “the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet.” She called it “the best possible wedding we could have imagined.”
The star also shared that they now have “a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.” Lopez has two children from her marriage to Anthony, while Affleck has three children from his marriage to Garner.
“Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things — and worth waiting for,” Lopez wrote to finish her newsletter. She signed it Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Aww, congratulations! You both deserve happiness. Wishing you a lifetime of that.
