Louis Tomlinson Announces New Album How Did I Get Here?
Billboard reports that Louis Tomlinson’s third solo album, How Did I Get Here?, will be released on January 23, 2026. Around the same time he announced the album, Tomlinson released the lead single, titled “Lemonade.”
“I sum up it as ‘The record I always deserved to make,’” Tomlinson said in a press release. “My bread and butter is my honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music.”
He admitted that he’s “still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter,” adding, “I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped to be.”
This new project follows his previous two solo albums, 2020’s Walls and 2022’s Faith in the Future. On Wednesday, Tomlinson announced a new How Did We Get Here? world tour, kicking off in March of next year.
On Tuesday, Tomlinson released the lead single from his new album, titled “Lemonade.” In the chorus of the catchy tune, Tomlinson sings, “She’s so bitter / She’s so sweet / Lemonade / Lemonade / A little taste Is all I need / Lemonade / Lemonade.”
News of the songs title drew comparisons to Beyoncé’s 2016 album of the same name, with one user on X (formerly Twitter) writing, “sir you are NOT beyoncé.” Another user mentioned Harry Styles’ song “Watermelon Sugar,” joking, “Harry and Louis running a juice stand at this point.”
