Hayley Erbert Was Terrified By Her Facial Change After Car Crash With Derek Hough

Following their car accident last December, Dancing With The Stars couple Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are fortunately recovering fine. Erbert has recently opened about her injury, saying that she was shocked by the sudden change of her face shape amid her healing process.
For those who may not know, Hough and Erbert suffered from a “pretty scary car accident” ahead of the holidays. The accident involved a steep hill, icy roads, and a tree, almost making the two slide off the mountains. Erbert had to endure a swollen face and get four stitches above her eyebrow. Nonetheless, the couple is grateful that nothing worse had happened.
Hayley Erbert Shares An Update About Her Healing Process
On December 31, 2022, Erbert gave her Instagram followers an update regarding the injury caused by the car accident. She posted a series of selfies showing how her bruise face has been recuperating since the accident. According to the former DWTS troupe member, she panicked with the way her face has changed at first.
“It was so wild, and honestly terrifying, to watch my face take a completely new shape after our accident,” she wrote. “However, I am blown away and grateful for my body’s ability to heal so quickly.”
Evidently, Erbert is on her road to complete recovery. Her photos reveal that her wound is nearly mended compared to the state of her facial injury in the beginning.
She Manifests No More Injuries This 2023
After the unfortunate incident, Erbert and Hough chose to look at a positive direction. The two are particularly thankful for the quick response of the paramedics. They’ve also deeply reflected on the accident, realizing how fragile life is and how important it is to love the people around them. As she looks ahead of 2023, Erbert wishes to have zero injuries in the future.
“I’m manifesting that 2023 is a year of health and strength. No more injuries,” she wrote.
Several fans went in the comment section to let her know that they are relieved about her facial recovery. Meanwhile, others joined her in her health-related manifestation.
“So happy you are healing. Yes to an abundance of health in 2023,” one wrote.
The consequence of the car crash wasn’t the only distressing health injury that Erbert experienced back in 2022. Last November, the professional dancer badly hurt her shoulder, preventing her from performing in the DWTS Finale.
