In a world where it feels totally wrong to get mad at Harry Styles, social media users are full of frustration. The “Watermelon Sugar” singer announced that he will be taking “Love On Tour” across the U.S. starting in September. It wasn’t always a clear-cut decision about whether or not the tour was even still happening.
Harry Styles Announces U.S. Tour Dates After Social Media Outrage
Styles worked on remastering the tour schedule before announcing it to the world. The announcement came after fans were reportedly notified about some rescheduled tour dates via email from Ticketmaster. They would have much prefered to hear about it from Styles himself, to begin with.
The tour was initially supposed to kick off in 2020 after he released his album Fine Line in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic forced a lot of artists to cancel or postpone their tours to later dates. Styles was photographed on vacation in Tuscany with Olivia Wilde as confusion about the tour came to a boil. Many took to social media to call him out for not keeping them in the loop.
“LOVE ON TOUR will be going out across the USA this September and I could not be more excited for these shows,” the One Direction star wrote on social media. “As always, the well-being of my fans, band, and crew, is my top priority. Safety guidelines will be available on the respective venue websites to ensure we can all be together as safely as possible. Please notice that some dates have changed, and new shows have been added.”
Styles Teases That Something New is Coming
The chaos surrounding the U.S. tour dates has finally been settled. Many are still wondering about when Styles will take the tour overseas. Styles’ last tour date as of right now is on November 20 in Los Angeles. The pandemic has seriously shaken up the music scene but artists are taking baby steps to get back out onto the road.
“@Harry_Styles I am begging you, please don’t cancel the UK tour,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Luckily, one thing we all have to look forward to is the new music that Styles teased in his Instagram caption. Styles had a huge year coming off of the success of Fine Line and even took home his first Grammy. Whatever new music he has brewing is most likely going to lead to more chart-topping and iconic red carpet fashion moments.
“To everyone in the UK, and across the world, I can’t wait to see you again, but for obvious reasons it is just not possible at this time,” Styles continued. “I will be sharing more news soon about shows across the globe, and new music. I love you all so much. I’m very excited, and I can’t wait to see you.”
