The X Factor UK family is mourning the loss of 34 year old Danny Dearden. The singer was apart of the show in 2014 where he successfully made it to the judges house portion of the competition.

The manager of former X Factor UK star Danny Dearden confirmed that the singer died on Tuesday, April 15. The news was broke by news outlet Mirror.
“Heartbroken to wake up to the news that you’re gone. I have no words right now, rest easy beautiful boy,” manager Denise Beighton said.
For those who may not remember, Dearden took The X Factor UK stage at 24 years old in 2014. He appeared in the boys category, being mentored by Mel B. Also in this category was as Jake Quickenden, Andrea Faustini, Jack Walton, Jordan Morris, and Paul Akister.
The singer performed Kelly Clarkson’s “Beautiful Disaster” during this round of the competition. Although he didn’t make it further on the competition series, Dearden found success in the music industry.
In 2021, he signed a deal with Sentric music, after bringing in 15 million streams on Spotify. His biggest hit was song, “Could Be With You,” which topped nearly 14 million Spotify Streams. This song was featured on BBC Radio 1 Party Anthems and was also featured on ITV’s Love Island.
Outside of music, Dearden was an anti-bullying campaigner. He visited schools to give talks about how to stay safe online. At the time of his death, Dearden has 5,710 followers on Instagram, 1.99K subscribers on YouTube, and 30,295 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Song Collaborator Talks About Working With Dearden
In 2018, French music producer Michael Calfan talked about working with Dearden on “Could Be With You.” The producer candidly said “It was amazing working with him.”
At the time, Calfan hadn’t had much studio experience “on that scale.” Quickly, the producer felt at home with Dearden while writing “It’s Wrong.”
“He is one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met, although it can be difficult at times because he has the strongest French accent I’ve ever heard, that mixed with my Northern/Lancashire/Manc accent we had to repeat ourselves a few times,” Calfan said.
When talking about the success of the song, Calfan admitted “it’s mental… and we haven’t even started the promotion we have planned yet.”
His final single is titled “Lost Tonight,” it was released in 2022. It is unknown if Dearden was working on music at the time of his demise. The nature of Dearden’s death is also unknown at this time.
In December 2023, Dearden posted about how NHS saved his life. “This year has been a bit of a rocky one, at one point I was told I probably wouldn’t be here today…well I am,” he wrote at the time. The singer also had posted on social media in 2024 saying he had not been in the “best of health recently.”
