‘American Idol’ Runner-Up Alejandro Aranda Releases New Single, Music Video

American Idol Season 17 runner-up Alejandro Aranda has released a new single called “Smile Levels,” with an accompanying music video. The track shows off Aranda’s unique style and impressive musical talent that took him so far on the talent show back in 2019.
Alejandro Aranda Releases New Single, Music Video
Aranda’s new single “Smile Levels” is a feel-good track featuring the musician’s signature guitar skills and breathy vocals. The song is brought to life by the catchy refrain “Ooh, I’m forever loving you.” Aranda called it a “fun song” on social media, telling fans he “can’t wait to play this live.”
The single’s accompanying music video captures the positive, breezy quality of the song. Aranda can be seen strumming his guitar and dancing along to the track in a bright landscape while wearing large yellow headphones.
This is the second new single Aranda has released this year. In January, he debuted the track “Dissonant Harmony,” which is immediately reminiscent of John Mayer’s biggest hits — with Aranda’s own unique twist added.
“Dissonant Harmony” and “Smile Levels” are the first singles Aranda has shared with fans so far from his upcoming project Farewell Superstar, out later this year.

What Has Aranda Been Up to Since the Show?
Aranda competed on Season 17 of American Idol back in 2019, wowing the judges and audience with his acoustic guitar skills and impressive original songwriting. He ultimately finished the season in second place behind winner Laine Hardy.
Since then, Aranda (who is also known by the stage name Scarypoolparty) has released several solo albums. Then last year, he joined the band Seven Hours After Violet, performing lead guitar and backing vocals.
