The X Factor UK has released a new video featuring never-before-seen footage of One Direction during their journey on the show in 2010. This includes an unaired performance and several behind-the-scenes moments from their earliest days together.
The X Factor UK Releases Unseen One Direction Footage
The new video features footage from One Direction’s journey on The X Factor during the Judges’ Houses round. The group was formed on the show, as each member auditioned individually. This was their chance to show how they performed together.
Unseen footage in the new video includes a clip of the group rehearsing for their performance of “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia. There’s also a clip of Louis Tomlinson being welcomed back by his group mates after he received treatment for a sea urchin sting.
Before their performance of “Torn,” Harry Styles tells Simon Cowell, “We very much appreciate the opportunity that you’ve given us. And we hope you appreciate and like what we’ve done with it.”
After the performance, Cowell and Sinitta can be heard sharing their thoughts, with Cowell saying it “would be a hit record now.” Sinitta jokes, “Bye, Justin Bieber.”

The Group Sings Kelly Clarkson in Unseen Clip
As explained in the new video, every act had the chance to perform two songs during this round, but One Direction’s second song has never been seen before now. The group covered “My Life Would Suck Without You” by Kelly Clarkson.
Styles and Liam Payne took the lead on the song, with the other members providing backup vocals. Cowell applauded the performance. Later in the video, the show shared extended footage of the group finding out they were moving on to the next round.
The video ends with a clip of Cowell talking about one group that he’s “quietly confident about.” Although he doesn’t name them, the assumption is that he’s talking about One Direction. He says, “I’ve just got a feeling we may have something special in this bunch.”
