American Song Contest contestant Ryan Charles recently teased an upcoming new song on Instagram called “Spurs.” The rapper represented Wyoming in the NBC contest earlier this year, making it to the Semifinals with his song “New Boot Goofin’.”
American Song Contest‘s Ryan Charles Teases New Song
On Wednesday, Ryan took to Instagram to share that his new song “Spurs” will be released on August 26. He included an image to go along with the track, showing a pair of feet wearing boots with spurs on the back. The song is available to pre-save now.
Ryan’s song “New Boot Goofin'” went viral after he performed it on American Song Contest earlier this year, racking up streams even after the rapper was eliminated from the competition before the Semifinals. Ryan explained that the title came from a phrase his uncle used to use.
Later on, he ended up winning a redemption spot in the Semifinals. He also released a music video for “New Boot Goofin’.” Although he didn’t end up winning the competition, he gained plenty of fans with the track. Ryan currently has over 150,000 TikTok followers.

What Has Ryan Been Up to Since the Show?
In the months since American Song Contest ended, Ryan has been performing shows around the country. In June, he performed at CMA Fest in Nashville. On August 21, he’ll be performing with fellow Wyoming artists in Montana for a Yellowstone flood relief benefit concert.
Ryan teased what looks like a new music video on Instagram in June, writing, “Filmed another western yesterday.” The rapper stands in front of four women on horseback while being photographed. Could this be the “Spurs” music video?
