Former Dancing with the Stars pro Cheryl Burke recently took to TikTok to address comments she’s received about her appearance. Some fans have pointed out that Burke looks different, speculating about what might be behind the change.
Cheryl Burke Addresses Comments About Her Appearance
In a recent TikTok video, Cheryl Burke addressed what she called “the elephant in the comment section” while removing her makeup in front of the camera. As she said, “I’m not on Ozempic. I’m not sick. I didn’t get a face transplant, and no, I didn’t get a brow lift.”
Burke went on to say that some social media commenters talk about her as if she’s “not a person.” She also responded to comments from people saying they “miss the old Cheryl.” She referred to her time on DWTS, and her experience going through a divorce a few years ago.
“I hate to break it to you, but that Cheryl doesn’t exist anymore,” the dancer said. “The assumptions are just exhausting as hell. The accusations are completely cruel, and the fact that so many of them are actually coming from women, that’s what is so shocking and hurtful to be quite honest.”
Burke acknowledged that her appearance “has changed” since she’s been in the public eye, adding that she’s “experienced so much trauma, divorce … sobriety, burnout, reinvention.” As she said, “I’ve healed, I’ve lost, I’ve grieved like anybody else. And yeah, maybe it shows, but I’m not sorry for it. Not one bit.”

Burke Says Social Media Feels Like a ‘Firing Squad’
In her video, Cheryl Burke went on to say that she feels a “pressure to prove that I haven’t done something” and “to convince people that my healing is valid.” She emphasized that she’s still an advocate for mental health and body image, but she has “boundaries and more discernment” now.
“And frankly, I don’t feel safe the way I used to,” Burke said of her recent experience on social media. “There’s a tone now on certain platforms that feels more like a firing squad than an actual community. And the saddest part of all is the way I’m witnessing women tear down other women, while pretending it’s from concern.”
Burke’s response didn’t satisfy everyone in her TikTok comments section, with some followers still insisting she must have had cosmetic surgery or used a weight-loss drug. As one person wrote, “Just say what you had done. It’s 2025. No one is going to come for you if you’re simply transparent about it.”
