Adam David Named The Voice Season 27 Winner

Adam David was a bit of an underdog going into this week’s The Voice finale. The 34-year-old was a one-chair turn on Michael Bublé’s team in his Blind Audition. He went on to win both his Battle and his Knockout, and was chosen by Bublé to move on in the Playoffs.

However, in the live Semifinals, Adam was in the middle of the group in terms of votes, which meant he had to participate in the Instant Save. Voters at home chose to send him to the finale, where he delivered gritty performances of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake & Jelly Roll, as well as “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.

During Tuesday’s results show, Adam performed a duet of “The Weight” by The Band with his coach Michael Bublé. At the end of the night, he ended up in the Top 2 alongside Kelsea Ballerini’s artist Jaelen Johnston. RENZO, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, and Jadyn Cree rounded out the Top 5, from third to fifth place.

Adam appeared stunned to find out he was even in the Top 2. He looked even more shocked when host Carson Daly called his name as the Season 27 winner. Daly emphasized that he’s the first winner ever in the show’s history to have received the Instant Save earlier in the season.

Coach Michael Bublé now has a perfect record on The Voice. He joined the show for the first time last season, winning with artist Sofronio Vasquez. Now he’s the winning coach once again on his second season of the show. Bublé will return for yet another season later this year. Will he continue his winning streak? We’ll have to wait and see.

What Else Happened During the Finale?

Tuesday night’s finale also featured a number of exciting performances ahead of the winner announcement. The Top 5 artists took the stage to perform duets with their coaches during the show, and the Top 12 teamed up to perform “Pompeii” by Bastille.

Former The Voice coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and Chance the Rapper were also on hand to perform their recent music releases, as were Season 22 winner Bryce Leatherwood and Season 16 winner Maelyn Jarmon. Before the show, Shelton made sure to reunite with his bestie and this season’s returning coach Adam Levine, calling him out for sitting in his old coach chair.

Other notable guest performances during Tuesday’s finale came from Foreigner, Joe Jonas, James Bay and Sheryl Crow, and Alicia Keys featuring Amanda Reid. Winning coach Michael Bublé also delivered a solo performance of “I’ve Got the World on a String.”
