‘American Song Contest’ Prediction: Who Will Make it to the Top 5 and Win the Show?
Reading Time: 3 minutes
American Song Contest has officially dwindled their artists down from 56 to 10. After 7 weeks of performances, this series comes to a close on Monday, May 9. Who will win American Song Contest? Here’s our predictions.
Americans have repeatedly seen great performances of various genres in the first season of this competition. While some fan favorites may have been voted out, others have continued into the finale. With 10 artists remaining, here’s who we think will finish in the Top 5.
Our Predictions for America’s Next Hit Song
This series saw so many unique artists throughout the competition. While each state and territory shined on the stage, a few took the cake when it came to the public vote. Both AleXa representing Oklahoma and Michael Bolton representing Connecticut repeatedly won the public vote and became the conversation of the night.
While neither of the two have landed high in the jury ranking, they’ve been able to continue on in the competition solely from the public vote. Since they have been strong public vote recipients, I expect them to make it into the top five. I believe Ni/Co will also make it into the top five alongside them.
I’ll be the first to admit that this duo isn’t my personal favorite, but they have extremely strong lyrics and an undeniable on stage chemistry. Their on stage, off stage relationship is definitely one of their strengths.
It’s hard to predict whether two time jury vote recipients Allen Stone or Tyler Braden will make it further. While the jury clearly loves them, we don’t know how America will vote when it comes down to it. I personally like both artists, but don’t foresee America voting them into the top five since they’re so used to the jury bringing them to the top.
I expect one of the jury vote members to make it into the bottom portion of the top five if the jury is also voting on the artists. Alongside one of them will be Grant Knoche. This Texas native became a clear dark horse in the competition when he was voted into the grand final. While I think his song “Mr. Independent” is strong and his staging is good, I expect to see him in the bottom of the top five.

Alexa is only there becuase K-pop is popular among the young crowd. Her song is good, but not better than half the songs in the final. Michael Bolton is only there becuase he’s Michael Bolton. If I had to pick 2 people that deserve to win based on song alone, it’s either Allen stone or Jordan smith.
