After another night of grand American Song Contest performances, the winner has finally been crowned. AleXa representing Oklahoma won with America’s next hit song “Wonderland.”

Allen Stone Representing Washington Was Absent From the Grand Final

The night began with an energetic performance from both hosts, Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg, but quickly took a turn. As soon as the top performers were announced, fans noticed that Allen Stone had not walked on stage with the group. The hosts soon shared that Allen would not be performing live. At the time, they stated that his absence was due to personal reasons.

Due to his absence, fans were taken aback while seeing his pre-performance interview. Within the interview, the singer revealed that his mother has been battling with cancer. While the nature of Allen’s absence has not been confirmed, fans are hoping for the best for him and his family. This artist did virtually participate in the end of the episode, with his wife.

American Song Contest Artists Prove Themselves As Strong Performers

The last episode of American Song Contest proved that each performer has gotten better and better as the weeks went on. Artists like Chloe Fredericks and Ni/Co stepped up to the plate this week. Both artists had better tonality than the weeks prior. They definitely understood the assignment.

Even The Voice‘s Jordan Smith filled the arena with his beautiful vocals. He came back to the stage with even more passion behind his single “Sparrow” and gained tons of applause from the audience. Similar to Jordan, Michael Bolton came back to the stage with fiery.

Both Grant Knoche and AleXa managed to bring their performances up a level for the last episode. They both added new aspects to their already fast-paced set. As far as I’m concerned, they both shined pretty bright on the grand final stage.

Riker Lynch brought the energy up for his final performance with a surprise guest. While singing “Feel The Love,” he danced the salsa with his wife, Savannah Latimer. The audience roared after his on stage surprise.

AleXa is Crowned as The American Song Contest Winner

Earlier in the night, Clarkson gave the two awards out to fan favorites. Michael was given the golden goat award for his past in the industry, while AleXa was given the golden helmet award for her iconic stage exit. Little did AleXa know, she would be bringing home way more.

Votes from the public was once again added to the jury vote to determine the winner. America’s vote got more prominence in this round of the competition. Before announcing the overall winner, they went region by region sharing the results of the jury rankings. Even though public vote outweighs the jury, Allen still succeeded, winning 105 points.

After revealing each state totals, AleXa was announced as the first winner of American Song Contest with over 700 points. “Wonderland” took the grand prize as America’s next hit song. This artist is now set to perform at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 15.
