Evie Clair to Release New Song ‘I Know You’re There’ This Week
Clair shared the good news on Instagram last week. The AGT singer also announced that she’s treating her fans with a detailed breakdown of the song’s lyrics on YouTube.
“NEW SONG ALERT! check out my newest youtube video for a sneak peek and breakdown of the lyrics,” she wrote. “This song is written for my dad and my daughter and will be premiering on youtube September 7th, which will mark 6 years since my dad passed away. i miss him everyday. but i know that when it really matters, he’s there.”
In a 15-minute video she posted on YouTube, Clair explained how she began writing the song. Apparently, the inspiration behind “I Know You’re There” was her little conversation with her four-month-old daughter Billye.
“I don’t know if everybody else feels like this but at least for me, there’s something really special about newborn babies,” she said. “They are just so close to heaven. And I found myself this one night just talking to her and I started telling her about her Grandpa.”
“I Know You’re There” will premiere on YouTube on September 7. According to Clair, the single will be available for other audio-streaming services by the end of the month.
She Says Writing the Single was an Emotional Ride
As she gave fans a sneak peek of the single, Clair concluded that writing “I Know You’re There” has been a sentimental process. Nonetheless, the AGT alum can’t wait for fans to stream her new song.
“This was a very emotional song to write and talk about obviously,” she said. “But I’m really excited to share it all with you in a week and hear what you think. One of my favorite parts of releasing music is always hearing from the people who listen to it. Hearing from you about how you relate to my music.”
As a daughter, Clair admits that she’s still hurting that her late father wouldn’t meet Billye in this lifetime. Be that as it may, she finds comfort by the fact that he’ll always be there in spirit.
“One thing I don’t think I’ll ever see I don’t know what the next life exactly will be but the way that she is right now, a little fresh, tiny, new baby, I won’t get to see my dad hold her like this. And that definitely is sad.” she said. “Sometimes I do just miss my dad. But the next line of the song says ‘But I know that when it really matters, you’ll be there.'”
