America’s Got Talent star Drake Milligan has just launched his next power move ahead of the first live results show. After yet another jaw dropping, viral performance, the country singer announced the release of his debut album.
Drake Milligan once again came to impress on the America’s Got Talent stage, but he’s not done just yet. After his live show performance of his original song “Kiss Goodbye All Night,” it was revealed that his debut album is on the way. Although the original announcement was made days before the live show performance, fans are quickly catching on and hitting the pre-save/pre-add button.
Drake’s debut album, Dallas/Fort Worth is set to release to streaming on September, 15. Reports state that this album will be a 14-song collection, produced by Tony Brown and songwriter/producer Brandon Hood. The songs will feature Drake’s Texas roots with a neo-traditional sound and authentically country storytelling. In a press release, the singer stated that he will be paying homage to traditional country roots and bringing new sounds and energy to the genre with this release.
If Drake moves on in the competition, he plans to raise the bar even more than he already has. He’s hoping to sing a new song on the stage in the next round. It seems like the singer hopes to perform a song from his upcoming album, since he stated “I’ve been in Nashville for a few years writing and got some new stuff and hopefully be able to do one of those.”
Could Drake Milligan Be the Act to Beat?
Many people (including Simon Cowell) are shocked to see Drake continue in the America’s Got Talent competition. Typically, when acts find this type of success on the stage, they set away from the competition entirely. Instead, Drake plans to continue in the competition.
Drake made waves in the America’s Got Talent competition with his original song audition of “Sounds Like Something I’d Do.” His performance on the series quickly brought his music to the top of the iTunes Country Music Chart. On Monday night, he returned to the stage for the Qualifiers Round and sang his original “Kiss Goodbye All Night.” We expect this song to be just as successful on the iTunes charts.
Since the singer had gained tons of popularity from his audition, judge Simon Cowell commended him for returning to the show. After the show, Drake acknowledged that withdrawing from the competition never crossed his mind.
“From the first moment I stepped on that America’s Got Talent stage, all I wanted to do was come back and be in front of that crowd and be in front of those judges again,” he said. “It’s so much fun to feel that energy from the crowd and to know that millions of people are watching. I just couldn’t wait to come back.”
Fans hope to hear Drake’s name announced as one of the two acts continuing into the next round of the compeition on Wednesday Night’s Results Show. Make sure to tune into NBC on Wednesday, August 10 at 8 p.m. ET to see if Drake will continue on in the competition.
