17-Year-Old Country Singer Turns Four Chairs During ‘The Voice’ Sneak Peek
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Season 21 of The Voice is in full swing, and the show just released a sneak peek from next week’s round of brand-new Blind Auditions. The clip features Carson Peters, a 17-year-old country singer who turned all four coaches’ chairs with his performance.
Carson Peters Auditions for ‘The Voice’
For his audition, Carson performed “Tulsa Time” by Don Williams while playing guitar. This might come as a surprise, but John Legend was the first coach to turn his chair for Carson’s performance. He was followed soon after by the show’s resident country star Blake Shelton.
Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson eventually joined them, giving Carson a coveted four-chair turn. When it came time to give feedback, Legend started things off by reminding Carson that he’s from Oklahoma, the very state he was singing about in his audition.
Carson shared that he plays the fiddle, and he’s even had the opportunity to perform with bluegrass singer Ricky Skaggs. Clarkson told him she’d love to see him play the fiddle on the show, and we agree that would be amazing to watch.

Carson Calls Out Kelly Clarkson for Turning Last
The coaches acknowledged that Shelton would probably be Carson’s first choice as a coach, but Legend reminded him that he doesn’t have any other country singers on his team so far. He also pointed out that he recently won a CMT Award with Carrie Underwood.
Grande said she was “well aware” that Carson wouldn’t choose her, but she still wanted to share her appreciation for his talent. Clarkson, meanwhile, accused Shelton of being the last coach to turn around. Actually, he turned second, and Clarkson herself turned last.
Carson couldn’t help but correct her, saying, “I might be wrong, but I think it was you that was last.” She denied it at first, but she eventually admitted that yes, it was her. The coaches and audience definitely got a kick out of it.
Will Carson do the expected and choose Shelton as his coach? We won’t find out until next week’s show. The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
actually Don Williams did not originally cover this song, Originally it was Eric Clapton. Don Williams covered it laster and it was his band mate that wrote the song not williams. Also legend is from Ohio na not Oklahoma, Blake is from Oklahoma. Why are there so many errors in your reporting? Can I have a job writing?
I used to golf with him!!!! So cool
