Britain’s Got Talent Series 18 returned over the weekend for another round of auditions. During the episode, judge Bruno Tonioli hit the Golden Buzzer for an incredible teen singer from Romania named Maya Giotea.

Bruno Tonioli Hits Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer

This week’s new episode featured a performance from 14-year-old Maya Giotea, who is from Romania and previously appeared on Romania’s Got Talent. Her parents watched proudly from the audience as Maya shared that appearing on BGT “has been a big dream for such a long time.”

For her audition, Maya performed “Listen” by Beyoncé. Before she started singing, judge Alesha Dixon remarked that it’s “one of the hardest songs to sing in the world.” Maya definitely did it justice, belting out the lyrics and leaving the panel stunned by her talent.

Bruno Tonioli was especially impressed by Maya’s performance. He wasted absolutely no time after she was done singing to press the Golden Buzzer, calling the audition “incredible.” Tonioli’s fellow judges were shocked that he made the decision so quickly.

“This was the most mature, accomplished version of this song that I’ve heard from someone so young,” Tonioli told the audience after giving Maya a hug on stage. Dixon chimed in to say that she “felt every word” Maya sang.

Dancing with the Stars Singer Auditions for the Show

This week’s new episode of BGT also featured an audition from CJ Emmons. Tonioli recognized him as a singer who performs on Dancing with the Stars. He shared that he’s been singing since he was a little kid, adding that he’s “always wanted to be in front.”

CJ said that Tonioli inspired him to audition for the show. For his performance, he sang “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. He showed off an incredible voice that floored the judges. The panel gave him a standing ovation for the performance.

Amanda Holden called the performance “beautiful and spellbinding,” telling CJ, “We see you.” Simon Cowell called the audition “a vocal masterclass,” pointing to the audience’s enthusiastic reaction. Tonioli got emotional as he told CJ, “You deserve this moment.” The singer received four “yes” votes from the judges to move on in the competition.

Canada’s Got Talent Alum Shows Off Magic Act

Another familiar face to appear on this week’s new episode of BGT was magician Alexandra Burgio, who previously competed on Canada’s Got Talent. Alexandra appeared on CGT last year, making it to the Semifinals. She also previously appeared on Penn and Teller: Fool Us in 2023.

For her audition, Alexandra stepped out onto the stage with duct tape over her mouth. She went on to tape Simon Cowell’s mouth shut before tossing several inflatable balls into the audience. She had the audience members who caught the balls help her choose a playing card — the eight of hearts.

When Alexandra removed the tape from her face, that card was in her mouth, shocking the judges. She then introduced herself before asking Cowell to choose an index card at random, which had the word “fierce” written on it. When Alexandra removed the tape from Cowell’s mouth, that word was written on the back of it.

The judges praised Alexandra’s performance, voting “yes” to sending her through to the next round. What did you think of this week’s auditions? Let us know in the comments below.
