Nabil Khemir Stole The Show On ‘The Voice Of Flanders’
Nabil described auditioning for The Voice of Flanders as a “leap of faith.” He already had an established career as a jazz guitarist in Tunisia. After leaving Tunisia, he hoped to launch a career for himself as a musician in Belgium. Nabil was actually not aware that he was the first contestant to sing in Arabic on The Voice of Flanders. It is his native language, but he also speaks Dutch and French.
For his Blind Audition, he sang “Nour El Ain” while playing a double-neck guitar that he calls “RayJam.” He started off the song playing the unique instrument which allowed all of the coaches to appreciate his artistry. Once he began singing, the band joined in with an upbeat tune in the background. All of the coaches were dancing along in their chairs and everyone waited to see who would turn their chair first.

The pair started dancing in their seats which led Alex Callier to turn his chair and join the dance party. Finally, Koen Wauters turned his chair to make this a well-deserved four-chair turn.
He was praised for singing in Arabic and the judges encouraged him to stay true to himself throughout the competition. Nabil chose to be on Team Bart. He went up against Sitse Brems in The Battles where he was declared the winner.
Nabil made it to the Live Shows where he continued to impress the coaches with his singing and experience playing instruments. He was later eliminated from the competition. Luka Cruysberghs was declared the winner of the season.
