On October 8, Will.I.Am joined Nick Cannon as a special guest on The Nick Cannon Show. Will.I.Am is one of the celebrity panelists on FOX’s newest virtual competition show, Alter Ego. He sits alongside Alanis Morissette, Nick Lachey, and Grimes on this virtual reality meets competition show.

Will.I.Am was the special guest on The Nick Cannon Show for Cannon’s 41st birthday bash. The Black-Eyed Peas member joined Cannon virtually on his phone screen. Before talking about Alter Ego, Will.I.Am showed off his futuristic studio that he designed himself.

When Will.I.Am showed off his studio, he mentioned that he loves prototypes and trying new things. The love of prototypes tied in perfectly with Cannon’s curiosity about Alter Ego. When asked about the show, Will.I.Am told his shocking origin story.

Originally he thought Alter Ego would be another American television letdown for him. FOX producers reached out asking him to be apart of the new show, but Will.I.Am thought it was all too good to be true.

“At first I was like here comes another one of these concepts where I’m going to go and get my heartbroken because I’ve always wanted to do TV in America, but for some reason I never really had an opportunity to do TV in America,” said Will.I.Am.

Will.I.Am is a Large Music Hit in America, but What About Television?

Even though Will.I.Am and The Black Eyed Peas are a huge success in the United States, he’s never been able to make it on American competition shows. Instead, he’s been able to go across seas and make a name for himself as a coach on The Voice. Will.I.Am has been on TV in The U.K. for 11 years, so it’s about time he landed a role in the U.S.

“Every chance I get to do American TV I never really get the opportunity so I’m like aww man this idea sounds awesome… and then make a long story short I got the gig bro!” said Will.I.Am. “I’m looking at these freaking Alter Egos, and like I said I like rocking a prototype now they got stuff I don’t got. I want me an alter ego, this is crazy next leveled-ness.”

It’s hard to believe someone as big as Will.I.Am would have a hard time booking a position on American television. This music producer is known for both his futuristic nature and music. So it makes sense as to why they would want him on the show. Although it never worked out with other shows, this one truly brings together his talent and love of technology.
