Tom Brady Says Doing ‘The Masked Singer’ Doesn’t ‘Fit My Profile’
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Tom Brady has once again addressed the rumors that he will appear on The Masked Singer Season 8. The NFL star is denying that he participated in the show, even going so far as to say it “wouldn’t really fit my profile.”
Tom Brady Denies ‘The Masked Singer’ Rumors
The rumors started spreading last month when Brady was absent from Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp. The Masked Singer social media added fuel to the fire by sharing a sneak peek of Ken Jeong guessing that a character called Hummingbird could be Brady.
Brady denied the rumors on Twitter, telling fans that he “wasn’t on the masked singer last week.” Now he addressed the speculation once again on his Sirius XM show Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.
“I don’t know where they get all these things. They gotta talk about something,” Brady said, adding, “Wasn’t me. I wasn’t masked and I’m not a singer. So that wouldn’t really fit my profile. I’m basically good at one thing, which is throwing passes. Other than that, I’m basically worthless.”
Of course, The Masked Singer doesn’t fit many celebrities’ profiles, yet they still do it. The show has featured a number of athletes who aren’t singers, so this excuse doesn’t exactly rule Brady out.

The Show Is Milking These Rumors
Whether or not Brady actually competed on The Masked Singer, the show is using the rumors as an opportunity to drum up interest in Season 8. In addition to sharing that clip of Jeong’s guess, the show also posted a video teasing a football trophy and a goat, writing, “This news is GOATing out of hand…”
The show’s executive producer Craig Plastis also recently teased that this season will indeed feature a GOAT (greatest of all time) and that the audience “literally went crazy for” this person. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s Brady, but it certainly doesn’t rule him out.
The Masked Singer Season 8 premieres Wednesday, September 21, at 8/7c on FOX. Something tells us we’ll have to wait a while to see Hummingbird perform.
