There are some Super Bowl halftime shows that are absolutely unforgettable. The biggest football game of the year is known for having the biggest names in music perform during halftime. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, let’s reminisce on one of the most iconic super bowl halftime show performances of all time.
In 2020, Shakira took to the stage with Jennifer Lopez. These singers aren’t known as absolute queens for nothing. As soon as it was announced that they would perform together, fans knew it was going to be great. These singers are known for being one of the biggest in their genre.
Super Bowl LIV Definitely Had the Best Halftime Show
Shakira has performed at other large events like the FIFA World Cup, so it’s no surprise that she managed to give such a great performance on the national stage. She kept the energy high on stage with tons of dancing, a sick light show, a great guitar performance and a special guest. I was amazed at how much she could run around the stage and not seem tired until the end of her set. She played a medley of songs including “Empire,” “Whenever, Wherever,” “Hips Don’t Lie,” and more.
Equally as great was Jennifer Lopez’s performance. The icon began on a pole above the crowd and started with her hit “Jenny on The Block.” Since these singers are very different, they had very different sets. They both absolutely slayed their own style. Lopez’s performance included tons of dancing and pole dancing.
At the end of the performance, Shakira took to stage with Lopez. They then sang a medley of “Waka Waka” and “Loud” which included loads of dancing. Having these two legends on stage together felt like a peak moment in my mind. How could the Super Bowl Halftime show ever beat this lineup?
Many fans believe that this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show line up has the potential for greatness. With Super Bowl LVI right around the corner and there’s a lot to expect this year. The halftime show lineup is filled with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Many fans are excited for this event, in the same way that they were excited for Shakira and Lopez. Although I’m a sucker for a good line up like this, I don’t think Shakira and Lopez’s performances will ever be topped.
