Dancing with the Stars Announces Dances for 500th Episode

In honor of the show’s 500th episode, this season’s remaining couples will pay tribute to dances from the show’s past. The episode will also feature an “Instant Dance Challenge,” with the couples being unaware of their chosen dance style until five minutes before.

During the show, Danny Amendola and his partner Witney Carson will dance a Quickstep inspired by Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough’s routine in Season 5, set to “Hey Pachuco” by Royal Crown Revue. Meanwhile, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson will take on a Contemporary inspired by Riker Lynch and Allison Holker’s performance to “Work Song” by Hozier in Season 20.

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach will dance an Argentine Tango, inspired by the one from James Hinchliffe and Sharna Burgess in Season 23, set to “Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)” by Gotan Project. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong will also dance an Argentine Tango, inspired by Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough’s routine to “Para Te” by Appart in Season 16.

Ilona Maher and her partner Alan Bersten will be performing a Quickstep, inspired by Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold’s dance to “Chuck Berry” by Pharrell Williams in Season 25. And finally, Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold will dance a Viennese Waltz inspired by Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ routine to “Glimpse of Us” by Joji.

The Episode Will Pay Tribute to the Show’s Past

The 500th episode of Dancing with the Stars will be a celebration of the show’s 33-season history. The episode will open with a dance routine choreographed by pros Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach, set to “Crazy In Love” by Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z. The same song opened the first episode of the series in 2005.

The show has also teased that there will be some fan favorites from past seasons returning to the ballroom during the 500th episode. We’ll have to wait and see who shows up.

The celebration will air on Tuesday, November 12, on ABC and Disney+ at 8 p.m. EST/PST, 7 p.m. CST. Voting will be open during the show, and the votes will be combined with the judges’ scores to determine which couple will be sent home.
