The Voice Season 8 runner-up, Meghan Linsey, recently announced that she and Tyler Cain eloped in Maui, Hawaii. For fans, they got a glimpse of the happy occasion on Meghan’s Instagram. The tropical wedding was planned just a week before the longtime couple decided to tie the knot.
The couple got engaged two years ago and this past Sunday they “finally did it!” Meghan posted on her Instagram. The bride wore a custom Olia Zavozina gown designed two years ago, before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Tyler wore a Twisted Tailor floral suit to go along with the tropical theme. His ring is said to have a sound wave engraved inside, of the couple’s duet “Nowhere Without You.”
The newly married couple met at the home of Jay Demarcus, from Rascal Flatts, a decade ago. Meghan was there to record a song that Tyler was on. The following week when she returned, the two began to hang out more and more. After seven years together, Tyler proposed in Alaska during a shoot for their music video.
The couple did not let life’s curveballs detour their love story. Once they were engaged, Meghan went to work planning their wedding, but the pandemic put a stop to that. To make matters worse, Tyler’s father died last year, and Meghan’s mother began to battle cancer. Facing obstacle after obstacle, it is no wonder why they decided to finally just make their wedding happen and elope.
