The Voice Season 25 returned on Monday night for the second round of Knockouts, as the coaches continued to narrow down their teams. The episode featured two steals, including one from coach John Legend on an artist who performed his song.

John Legend Steals Kamalei Kawa’a in The Voice Knockouts

In the first Knockout of the night, Chance the Rapper put Kamalei Kawa’a against Maddi Jane. Maddi chose to sing “New Rules” by Dua Lipa, while Kamalei opted to perform John Legend’s “All of Me” in a tribute to his wife.

Legend was clearly impressed by Kamalei’s performance of his iconic song, as he stood up and cheered as soon as it was over. He admitted that he can be tough on people who cover his songs, but he told Kamalei that he was “really into your version.”

It was up to Chance to decide which singers should remain on his team for the Playoffs. He called both of them “amazing vocalists.” However, he ultimately chose to keep Maddi on his team, saying she “showcased her superstar power.”

It wasn’t the end of the road for Kamalei, though. Both Legend and Reba McEntire hit their buttons to steal him for their own teams. Unsurprisingly, Kamalei chose to join Legend’s team. The coach called it “the most poetic outcome.”

Reba McEntire Steals Team Legend’s Jackie Romeo

The final Knockout of the episode (and the season as a whole) was between Team Legend’s Jackie Romeo and Zoe Levert. Jackie chose to sing “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna, while Zoe took on “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Chicks.

Legend chose Zoe as the winner of the Knockout, sending her to the Playoffs on his team. He called her a “loveable artist for our country fans.” However, Jackie wasn’t eliminated, as McEntire hit her button to steal her for her own team. She said that Jackie “can sing anything she wants.”

Now that the Knockouts have wrapped up, it’s time to move on to the Playoffs. The singers who won their Knockouts or were stolen by another coach will compete for another chance to stay in the competition, alongside the four artists who won the Playoff Pass during the Battles.
