The Voice returned to NBC on Monday, October 27 with the end of the Battle Rounds. In the same episode, the Knockout Round began with a few, great, two person Knockout performances.
The Battle Round Ends With Teams Final Performance
Kicking off the night was Team Snoop members Jerrell Melton and Ralph Edwards. For their battle, they sang “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. Even though Jerrell held his own in the battle, Snoop Dogg chose Ralph as the winner of the battle.
The next pair was Team Reba members Peyton Kyle and Shan Scott. They sang “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House. Although the song was a classic that had the audience and coaches dancing, McEntire had to pick a winner. Ultimately, she chose Peyton.
By far, the most impressive performance of the night was Team Niall members Dek of Hearts and Jack Austin. Together, they sang “I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons. Although both team members killed the performance, Dek of Hearts was the clear winner with their three part harmonies. Michael Bublé in turn decided to steal Jack.
Also appearing on this episode was Elias Gomez battling Teo Ramdel. The pair sang “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Their coach chose Teo as the winner of the battle.
The Knockout Rounds Kick Off With New Surprise
The Knockout Rounds began by announcing this season’s Mega Mentors, Joe Walsh (from The Eagles) and Zac Brown (from Zac Brown Band). They also announced the coaches newest honor. In this round, coaches will each be able to hit their “mic drop” button to send a singer to the Rose parade. Coaches will also not have a save or steal in this round.
The first knockout was Team Reba members Leyton Robinson and Aubrey Nicole. They sang “I Could Use a Love Song” by Marren Morris and Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” respectively. Even though both singer was impressive, Aubrey was ultimately the winner of the round.
Up next was Team Snoop members Kenny Iko and Ralph Edwards. They sang “There Goes My Baby” by Usher and “Dive” by Ed Sheeran, respectively. Once again, although both team members sounded great, Snoop Dogg decided Ralph was the winner of the Knockout.
The final Knockout of the night was Team Niall members Sadie Dahl and Ava Nat. They sang “Too Good at Goodbyes” by Sam Smith and “Hopelessly Devoted to You” by Olivia Newton John. Surprisingly, Horan chose Ava as the winner of the competition.
Be sure to tune into The Voice on Monday, November 3 for the set of the Knockout Round.
