‘The Voice’ Preview Highlights New Coach Camila Cabello
When The Voice returns for Season 22, Camila Cabello will be sitting on the panel as a new coach. The show recently released a video previewing Cabello’s first season on the show, as her fellow coaches shared what it’s been like to work with her.
New Coach Camila Cabello Joins The Voice Season 22
In the new preview, Cabello shared how excited she is to join The Voice, saying she’s come full-circle since she got her start on a singing competition show (The X Factor USA). The singer said that “it feels cool to be able to reflect on what I’ve learned and help somebody on their journey.”
“I’m looking for people that have potential outside of this show. Like, people that I can hear them on a record,” Cabello shared. “The best, most exciting music landscape comes from diversity and representation and having all different kinds of people tell their story through music.”
Fellow judge John Legend reflected on Cabello’s gig as a Battle Advisor for his team during Season 21. He shared his belief that she’s “already going to be such a formidable opponent for us.” He called her “smart” and “talented.”
Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani said Cabello is “doing an amazing job.” She added that it feels like the new coach has always been there, and she knows what she’s doing. Stefani pointed to Cabello’s long history in the music industry.

Is a Rivalry with Blake Shelton Brewing?
“It’s really cool having Camila here,” Blake Shelton said in the new preview. “I’m giving her hell because that’s my job. But she’s incredibly talented. She knows what it’s like to be one of these contestants, and she’s become a huge star.”
Still, there’s sure to be some good-natured teasing between the coaches this season. In one clip, Shelton tries to remember what show Camila was on, guessing America’s Got Talent. In another, Camila pushes Shelton out of the way as the coaches are walking together.
Season 22 of The Voice will premiere Monday, September 19 on NBC.
