Sofia Vergara Shares What She’s Looking for in a New Partner

Sofia Vergara on the 'America's Got Talent' red carpet

During this week’s America’s Got Talent results show, judge Sofia Vergara took a moment to share what she’s looking for in a partner. Vergara recently split from her husband Joe Manganiello, and her newly single status has been a topic of conversation on the show.

Sofia Vergara on What She Wants in a Partner

During Tuesday’s performance show, comedian Ahren Belisle got flirty with Vergara in his set. On Wednesday, host Terry Crews shared that this moment inspired fans to ask what Vergara is looking for in a partner.

“I think what every girl wants,” Vergara shared. “Someone healthy, someone handsome, someone that has a great sense of humor. Someone that is happy with himself. That’s it.”

As Vergara laid out her criteria, fellow judge Howie Mandel made sure to interject, letting her know that he’s married and therefore isn’t available for her. The audience got a kick out of this moment.

Vergara doesn’t seem bothered by the frequent references to her recent split. Earlier this season, Mandel joked that she’s “in the market” for an eligible bachelor. Vergara responded by throwing her hands up and shouting, “Yes!”

Vergara, Manganiello Split After Seven Years

In July, Vergara and Manganiello announced that they were splitting up after seven years of marriage. The actors tied the knot in November of 2015, having started dating the previous year.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple said in a statement. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Shortly after they announced their split, Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Vergara reportedly asked the court to uphold the couple’s prenuptial agreement, guaranteeing that certain assets will remain hers.
