Sofia Vergara Asks Court to Uphold Prenup with Ex Joe Manganiello

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara has recently requested the court uphold her prenuptial agreement with Joe Manganiello. Last month, the two confirmed via joint statement that they’ve made the “difficult decision” to divorce.
Sofia Vergara Reiterates Prenup, Protects Her Assets from Joe Manganiello
As the former couple settles their divorce, the Colombian actress asserted her rights over the assets she made before and during their marriage. According to documents obtained by People, Vergara has responded to Manganiello’s divorce filing in late July, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the ground for the dissolution of their marriage.
The America’s Got Talent judge also asked the court to confirm that certain assets will remain hers. These assets include her money, jewelry, artwork, and “other personal effects.”
Manganiello listed his and Vergara’s date of separation as July 2. The actor also noted that they have a prenup.
It seems sensible that Vergara demands to protect her assets. In 2020, Forbes named Vergara as the highest paid actress, with a net worth of $43 million. During this time, she concluded her role as Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family. In the same year, the Colombian star also kicked off her job as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Such huge deals were further magnified with her endorsements with Walmart and Rooms To Go.
She Promotes Her Beauty Brand Amid Divorce
Despite the drastic shift in relationship status, the Colombian star refused to cause drama in public. Instead, Vergara continued to go on with her life. Last week, she went to Tampa, Florida to make an appearance on Home Shopping Network to promote her beauty brand, Toty.
In collaboration with Cantabria Labs, Toty offers sunscreen, skincare, makeup, and wellness products. Vergara has actively been promoting the beauty brand on Instagram, posting her beautiful snaps alongside the products.
The creation of Vergara’s skincare products draws origin from her past experiences as a young lady. According to the actress, she wished she knew sunscreen sooner.
“I grew up in very tropical weather in Barranquilla, Colombia, and there was no one ever telling you, ‘Don’t get sunburn’ or ‘Don’t tan,'” she said. “I wish I had made that decision sooner also for the rest of my body, but I didn’t. I just thought to save my face, and that was it. So, I haven’t had my face in the sun without protection since the ’90s.”
The brand name Toty was Vergara’s nickname when she was a kid. Apparently, her older brother who used to fall short pronouncing her original nickname Sofi.
