Simon Cowell Reveals ‘Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ is in the Works
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent: The Champions was a bit of a risk for NBC. It was the first “all-star” edition of the Got Talent franchise and aired at a time of year AGT never had before. But in the end, it proved to pay off, as the show has enjoyed high ratings and victories in viewership every week so far.
Naturally, this opens the door for other all-star versions of the show to be considered, and executive producer Simon Cowell is already on it.
“So we’ve now got AGT and we’ve got AGT Champions,” he said. “That was a very good change so there will be a BGT Champions.”
Obviously this is in no way an official announcement, but given how much of a success AGT Champions as well as the regular Britain’s Got Talent show have been, an all-star version of BGT seems like it could prove to be another hit for the Got Talent franchise.
Even though nothing concrete has been announced about this potential new series as of yet, we already have so many questions. Will this new show consist soley of former BGT contestants or include people from all around the world like AGT Champions? And will there be any act overlap between the two Champions programs? (Even though acts like Paul Potts, Susan Boyle, and Attraction competed on AGT Champions, they are so iconic to BGT history it would feel weird if they were prevented from participating.)
While we likely won’t have any answers to these questions for awhile, we’re so excited that a British Champions is possibly on the way! Let us know how you’d set up this potential series in the comments below.
