Simon Cowell Responds to Shocking ‘X Factor’ Allegations

After a variety of former contestants have spoken out against The X Factor, we now learn Simon Cowell is feeling ‘broken’ and ‘betrayed’ after recent backlash. Cowell is the creator of the show and has appeared on the judging panel for many years.
Allegations Against ‘The X Factor’
The X Factor, despite being on a two-year break from airing, faced huge scrutiny from former contestants recently. Many opened up about their own experiences on the show, adding to a long list of stars that have come out and exposed the singing competition for supposed maltreatment.

The latest to do so are duo, Jedward, who rose to fame in 2009 on the show. The two released many tweets about the show, saying: “Every contestant was a slave to the show and got paid zero while they made millions.”
Just a few months before, one of the show’s most viral stars, Zoe Alexander also told her story on YouTube. Alexander told viewers she had been set up for failure and was manipulated by producers throughout the audition process.
Simon Cowell Responds to Contestant Claims
A source told Heat Magazine that Cowell is disappointed at the claims.
“Simon has been genuinely blindsided. He feels heartbroken and betrayed,” the source said.
The insider also said that Cowell has been in touch with former judge, Cheryl about the wave of allegations.
Will ‘The X Factor’ Return?
The X Factor is still expected to return in 2022 with a reformed format and a new judging panel.
The show aired two spin-offs in 2019 in an attempt to boost ratings, but failed to do so. As a result, Cowell will now try again with the show’s normal format.
