Shakira reportedly separated from her boyfriend of 12 years, Gerard Piqué after his cheating scandal in early June. The couple has officially begun their custody battle of Milan (9) and Sasha Piqué Mebarak (7).
Most of Shakira and Piqué’s custody battle is relatively unknown by the public, but it’s been reported that the couple is currently unable to come to an agreement. They have both brought their lawyers into the picture to decide which party will have custody of their children.
Shakira, Gerard Piqué Want Different Things for Their Children
Amid the custody battle, both parties have revealed their intent for their children. Piqué wants to remain in Catalonia with their children, while Shakira wants to move with them to Miami, Florida. Reports state that she wants to move to Miami because she doesn’t have a circle of friends in Barcelona.
Even though some may see Shakira’s desire to move to Miami as random, she has family there including her two brothers and parents. Reports state that Piqué’s refusal to let Shakira move to Florida with their children has angered the popular singer. In turn, Shakira threatened Piqué, stating that she would reveal his secrets. These secrets apparently would include details of his personal life that have remained unknown up to this point.
The Singer Refuses to Give in to Piqué’s Requests
According to the source, Shakira has gone through many phases since her relationship ended, anger, despair, and sadness. Due to the nature of the break up, she realized that she didn’t really know Piqué. The columbian colombian singer has vowed to continue pushing for what she wants.
