Shakira, Gerard Piqué are Reportedly Living Apart Amid Cheating Scandal, Set to Split

Dancing With Myself creator Shakira may be back on the market soon. Reports state that her boyfriend of nearly 12 years, professional soccer player Gerard Piqué, was cheating with a 20 year old woman.
Shakira, Piqué Set to Separate
Reports state that this couple on the verge of splitting after Shakira caught Piqué cheating with another woman. The couple seems to be living separately since the discovery. Piqué has since been living in his old apartment in Barcelona and participating in nightlife, while Shakira remains in their family home.
“(Shakira) has made the decision to separate. That is so. It has happened. That is why there is distance. Perhaps there is nothing left, but that (infidelity) has passed,” El Periódico journalist Emilio Pérez De Rozas said during a live video stream of the podcast Mamarazzis.
El Periodico reported that the professional soccer player has been partying with his teammate Riqui Puig and others. They noted that he is “unleashed” and “out of control with partying” noting that he often was out until one or two a.m. Reports state that the soccer player was with another women at these outings. Neither Shakira nor Pique have addressed these claims on social media.
Fans Think The Latin Singer’s Social Media Hinted At Relationship Problems
Fans first noticed that something was off between Shakira and her partner when she stopped sharing photos of them. Even though that could mean anything, many think this was the singer’s first hint that something was going on between them. Soon after, Shakira dropped her latest release, “Te Felicito,” “Congratulations” in English. This break up song is all about congratulating a dishonest partner for their wrongdoings.
“I broke myself into pieces/ They warned me, but I didn’t pay attention/ I realized that your love is false/ It was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Shakira sings.
If the lyrics weren’t revealing enough, the music video sets the scene with Rauw Alejandro opening a congratulations card that sings and calls him a liar. Since the affair has become public news, Shakira fans have shared their opinions on the matter. Most fans agree that true love isn’t real because the couple of nearly 12 years may be on the brink of separation.
Shakira and Pique met during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and began dating soon after. Together, they have two children, Milan Piqué Mebarak (9) and Sasha Piqué Mebarak (7). Even though they had been dating for nearly 12 years, the couple has never reportedly been engaged or married.
