Ryan Seacrest Tests Positive for Covid-19
“I don’t know how I avoided it for so long but unfortunately I tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago and I’m currently in quarantine,” Seacrest posted on Instagram stories Tuesday. “While I’m feeling the usual symptoms, I hope to make a quick recovery.”
He added that he would be spending his time in bed watching TV, and he asked fans to give him their recommendations for what to watch. Seacrest wrote that he was especially interested in “any foodie shows.”
Seacrest was absent during Tuesday’s new episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan. Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos filled in as co-host for the show. However, Seacrest was present for Monday’s episode, which was previously recorded.

Will This Affect ‘American Idol’?
At the end of September, the American Idol cast began filming for Season 21. Seacrest was photographed with judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan in Las Vegas. The host’s recent announcement makes us wonder if he was near the judges at all while he was positive with Covid-19.
The show hasn’t shared any other new behind-the-scenes shots from filming since the Vegas photos, and none of the judges have said they tested positive. So it’s possible Seacrest wasn’t around them recently, although it’s unclear if he’ll miss out on any other tapings while he recovers.
The judges have their own busy schedules to deal with. Perry is finishing up her Vegas residency this month, and Bryan is performing his Raised Up Right Tour. Meanwhile, Richie is performing a residency of his own at Wynn Las Vegas.
