‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ Collabs with Country Star Tanya Tucker for Finale Song
Reading Time: 3 minutes
We finally have a Top 4 on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars after a season full of twists. It’s still disappointing that Trinity K. Bonet fell short of the finale this season. A first look at the finale episode reveals one surprise that might cheer you up. Country superstar Tanya Tucker will be lending her vocals to the finale song this season.
Tucker was 13 years old when she rose to fame with “Delta Dawn.” Her classic country sound transcended to new generations over five decades. Despite all of her mainstream success, Tucker didn’t receive her first Grammy Award until 2019.
Tanya Tucker Surprises the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ Top 4
The clip begins with everyone talking about how far they’ve come since their first time competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Ra’Jah O’Hara broke down in tears remembering the hate she received after competing in 2019. We have seen a totally new side of her this season.
“I remember when I left here on Season 11 and you couldn’t tell me that I was even coming back into this workroom,” Ra’Jah said. “So before I even got through the doors the second go-around I said, ‘I’m not here to meet anybody else’s expectations other than my own.'”
Kylie Sonique Love felt a similar sense of redemption. She was sent home in the fourth episode of Season 2. This time around, she’s been consistent in all of the challenges and proved that she does have comedic skills.
“When I went home the first time 11 years ago, I took whatever I got from that and I applied everything I knew I had into it not turning it into a ‘woe is me’ but ‘wow this is me,” she said.
Any time RuPaul shows up wearing a cowboy hat, you know she’s ready to drop a bomb. Ru told the queens they need to be “a little bit country and a little bit rock and soul.” They will be writing lyrics for her new song, “This Is Our Country.” She described it as “a love letter the the U.S.A.”
Who Has the Advantage in the Final Challenge?
Tucker popped up on the screen to give the queens a few words of encouragement. She explained that finally winning a Grammy was worth the wait. Each member of the Top 4 has been waiting a long time for their second chance at winning the show. The only thing standing in their way is this final performance.
Ru said a country song is just “three chords and the truth.” She provided the queens with the three chords and gave them the task of writing the truth. Ginger Minj could potentially excel in this challenge. We know that she is an exceptional songwriter under pressure. Tucker and RuPaul will be joining the queens on the new track.
Jamal Sims, a franchise favorite, will help prepare the Top 4 for the performance. Kylie is probably going to slay any choreography she is given. Her recent performance with Miley Cyrus is a good indication of how much she commands the stage.
Who do you think will be crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 6 and earn a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame?
