RuPaul Gathers Elite Group of Queens for ‘The B*tch Who Stole Christmas’
Reading Time: 2 minutes
This holiday season, RuPaul is stuffing his fan’s stockings with the largest cast of Rupaul’s Drag Race. RuPaul has gathered some of the biggest names in drag to be a part of his upcoming film The B*tch Who Stole Christmas. This film will premiere on December 2, on VH1 at 9 p.m. ET.
This upcoming VH1 film contains “20 fabulous ho, ho, hoes” from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Some of the names in this film are Ginger Minj, Gottmik, Pandora Boxx, Raven, and others, along with the recent winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Kylie Sonique Love.
On top of the queens themselves, some of the long time RuPaul’s Drag Race judges will have supporting roles in this project. Are you ready to see Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Kim Petras, and more in this holiday movie?
If You’re an Avid Holiday Film Lover You Will Love This Storyline
The film follows a workaholic fashion journalist played by Krysta Rodriguez. Rodriguez’s character is sent to a Christmas-obsessed town by her editor, RuPaul. Her editor is hoping to dig up a juicy story about the town. The character quickly finds herself in the middle of the town’s Winter Ball competition, populated by cutthroat housewives and people who are attempting to destroy the holiday. We can assume Rodriguez’s character will help save Christmas a la every Hallmark movie ever.
This film has the best of both worlds: drag queens and a traditional Christmas-saving plot. Although many of us can agree holiday films can be repetitive, this one brings something entirely new to the table.
“There are 1,000 Christmas movies this year, but only one with drag queens,” Randy Barbato, World of Wonder producer said of the film in a press statement. “Christmas will never be the same!”
The B*tch Who Stole Christmas is apart of VH1’s upcoming original film series. These upcoming VH1 films all have been produced by the RuPaul’s Drag Race producers, Barbato and Fenton Bailey. This movie might be the beginning of something new for the repetitive genre.
As an avid lover of holiday films, I can’t wait to watch this one. Even though there is a very typical storyline, I think this film will play out a bit different than what we normally see considering the masterminds within the film. This isn’t really your normal holiday film, and from that alone I think The B*tch Who Stole Christmas could do very well.
