Olivia Jade From College Admissions Scandal to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Rumors
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Going into this season, fans of Dancing With the Stars shared their discontent at the casting of Olivia Jade due to her previous scandals. Why do people dislike the 22 year old? Let’s dive right into all the tea.
The majority of the hatred toward Olivia has to do with her controversial admission to The University of Southern California in 2019. This celebrity is the daughter of Lori Loughlin, known as Aunt Becky from Full House, and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli. Olivia’s parents were caught bribing USC into admitting their daughters Olivia and Isabella Rose into the college for half a million dollars.

Not only did this rich family take advantage of the admissions process, they took spots away from other possible students. On top of getting them into this prestigious university, the celebrity couple also registered their daughters as student athletes.
People were mad to hear that this happened, but it got ten times worse when people went through Olivia’s YouTube videos. People found multiple videos where Olivia admitted academics weren’t her first priority at college. She instead noted that she was excited for game days and parties.
As a result, Olivia lost her partnerships with both Sephora and TRESemmé just two days after the scandal broke. By October of 2019 USC’s registrar’s office confirmed that the celebrity and her sister were no longer enrolled at the university.
Moving on From the Admissions Scandal
In December 2019, Olivia ended her YouTube hiatus. She uploaded a video named “Hi Again” and once again disappointed her fans. Within the video, she didn’t apologize for her involvement in the admissions scandal for which her parents served time in prison. She instead said that she wasn’t legally allowed to talk about the situation. Olivia ended the video by acknowledging that she wants to move on with her life past this scandal.
After her parents’ trial, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, fined $155,000 and was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service upon release. Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison, fined $250,000 and was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service upon release.
Since then, Olivia has continued her career on YouTube. The celebrity currently has 1.83 million subscribers on the platform. The majority of her content is vlogs, but she made sure to incorporate Dancing With the Stars into the mix while she was on the show. Olivia’s other popular social media platform is TikTok. This is really where fans followed her during the show.
Olivia Jade’s Time on Dancing With the Stars Has Officially Come to an End
Unfortunately, I can’t say that Olivia hasn’t been in a scandal since her college admission. She managed to find herself in the middle of a Dancing With the Stars scandal, but quickly debunked it on TikTok. Fans speculated that there was some romance blossoming between the personality and her professional partner, who is married to pro Jenna Johnson.
Despite the controversies, Olivia and Val Chmerkovskiy became one of my favorite couples this season. I liked them so much because there was obvious improvement between dances. They totally came back after being in the bottom two during Grease Night.
After being in the bottom two, Olivia and Val received almost perfect scores, but their actual redemption was during Queen Night. They received an almost perfect score on their Quickstep and won their dance relay! They scored a 42 overall for the night.
Sadly, their time on DWTS is now over. During their last week on the show they were scoring high, but didn’t score high enough. They received a 36 overall score and did not win their dance-off against Jenna and JoJo Siwa.
After their shocking elimination, Olivia shared pictures to social media thanking both her partner and fans for her run on the series. In addition, she posted a TikTok about her reaction to losing the show. I was really holding out for this couple, but sadly there is no redemption mirrorball in their future.
