Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Masked Singer Season 10’s got the magic! And they’re celebrating it on this week’s Harry Potter Night. Also as part of this magical celebration, we’re getting a new Wild Card, the Sea Queen!

But who is the Sea Queen? And what clues reveal her celebrity identity? Let’s go through everything we know so far and make our prediction.

Clues on The Masked Singer Season 10

Ahead of her first appearance on Harry Potter Night, the show posted an Instagram video with one clue! We saw a black widow crawl across the video, perhaps a nod to the Black Widow from season two, Raven-Symoné.

Then, we got a full clue package on Harry Potter Night after she walked onto the stage. She is seen in a train station and starts by saying she’s always been a bit of a wildcard in life. We see a purse with four women depicted on it in different colors. Sea Queen got her first job giving museum tours at 14 but she got fired, she explains while we see a crown on a train car. Then, her mom got her into a fancy boarding school “because she was a smart cookie,” but she got kicked out.

Sea Queen mentions being a “triple threat” today, listing comedy, writing, and singing. And now, she’s preparing for a new tour! We see a CD player on the screen before she steps onto a train. Her last clue is from the Sorting Hat, which put her in Slytherin. Sea Queen expanded, “Slytherin makes sense for me…you never know what genre you’ll catch me in next!”

Popular Guesses for The Masked Singer Sea Queen

Jenny, dressed as Dumbledore, thought Sea Queen might be Erykah Badu. Ken really played off the “queen” part of her costume, predicting it’s Queen Latifah. Nicole guessed that it’s Jennifer Lewis, saying that she’s “done it all.” Online though, fans are going in a similar but different direction. The most popular guess, by far, is Macy Gray because of her distinguishable raspy voice.

And with all that, the Sea Queen could only be one celebrity! (And she’s the singer of one of my karaoke go-to’s!) It is none other than…

Macy Gray!

Not only is her voice one of the most recognizable I’ve ever heard, but the clues are spot on. The judges all talked about her being tall and Macy Gray is 6 feet tall. The Black Widow points to her being on an episode of That’s So Raven with Raven-Symoné, the Black Widow from an earlier season. Sea Queen’s stories about her first job and getting kicked out of boarding school also align with what Macy Gray has told in interviews previously.

Macy is definitely a triple threat, known for being in a number of movies and TV shows, studying scriptwriting at USC and being a songwriter, and (of course) most notably for her career as a singer. She is preparing for a tour of Europe in November, and the CD player is a nod to the late 90’s and early 2000’s when she rose to fame. Finally, the purse with four different colored ladies on it is a nod to a film she was in, “For Colored Girls.”

You won’t want to miss this Wild Card when she takes the stage again! The Masked Singer continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on FOX.

I personally don’t like Macy Gray, but go guessing.
