Lizzo Gifts Her Award Show Dress to a Fan Who Asked on TikTok

Lizzo recently granted a fan’s request to wear her dress to an event. Author Aurielle Marie took to TikTok to ask if they could wear the star’s 2022 Emmys dress, and Lizzo came through with a similar (and just as fabulous) option.

Marie, who won the Georgia Author of the Year Award in Poetry this year, posted a TikTok video last month sharing that she had been chosen as one of Out100’s LGBTQ+ Literary and Publishing Stars of the year.
The author shared their desire to accept the award in New York, but added that they had nothing to wear that was “big bitch and red carpet ready.” Marie said that “the longer I go without something to wear, the less I want to be there.”
So Marie made a request to Lizzo, asking if they could wear the singer’s dress from the 2022 Emmys. Lizzo attended the event in a red tulle Giambattista Valli gown. While she didn’t send that dress to Marie, she did send one just as amazing — the magenta tulle Dominique Galbraith gown she wore to the 2019 American Music Awards.

Aurielle Marie Cried When They Tried on the Dress
Earlier this week, Marie posted a new TikTok sharing that they had received the dress from Lizzo. They tried it on for the camera, exclaiming, “Shut the f*ck up!” After a moment, Marie began crying as she looked at herself in the dress.
Marie shared in a later TikTok that the package arrived just 20 minutes before they had to catch a flight to New York to attend the Out100 event. As they wrote in the caption, “FedEx, count your days. It almost didn’t make it!!!!! Still cant believe this is happening.”
The author told Good Morning America that she never expected Lizzo would actually send her anything, adding, “I’m really grateful because I think I think that everyone deserves to feel this beautiful.”
