American Idol alum Jimmie Allen recently shared that he’s leaving Nashville for a new locale. The country star posted a goodbye letter to the city on Twitter over the weekend. He later responded to a fan’s theory that he could be pursuing a new genre of music.
Jimmie Allen Is Leaving Nashville, Moving to Florida
On Saturday, Allen took to Twitter to write, “Dear Nashville, I came to you in 2007 chasing this music dream. Thank you for the memories we made over the years. It’s time to move on now but I’ll be back to visit for sure. Take care.”
A fan responded to Allen’s tweet speculating that he could be moving to Los Angeles. However, the singer clarified that he’s actually moving to Florida. He also responded to a fan who suggested he was “pulling a Taylor Swift move.”
The fan explained that Swift started in Nashville as a country artist before moving to New York City and exploring other genres. However, Allen denied that this was the case for him, replying that he’s “never leaving country music.”
Allen added, “Just moving to FL somewhere warmer with a beach haha.”

Allen Has Recently Teased New Music
Last year, Allen released his third studio album, titled Tulip Drive. Recently, Allen has been teasing new music with fans on Instagram. In January, he shared a snippet of a song called “More Like Me.” In the romantic ballad, Allen sings, “You make me feel more like me when I’m with you.”
Allen followed that up with a snippet of a song called “When I Drink.” This one is more up-tempo, as Allen sings, “When I drink I love you.” He also recently teased a song called “On,” which has the clearest country sound of the new tracks.
Fans expressed how excited they are to hear more from the singer. In the meantime, Allen is currently touring with Carrie Underwood on her Denim & Rhinestones Tour.
